Broken Door! August 28, 2006
Posted by agnesang2207 in Thinking Moments.add a comment

Look at this… my master bedroom door… broke by a rascal yesterday. Wonder how long and how much it will take to replace this door. Can I get back the same design and same colour? Being a very ‘yim jim’ person, I am v v angry that my door has ended up in this state.
Anyway as a revenge, I have threw away everything I could find in the living room, especially the dining table. It’s all ‘cleared’ now – candle, candle holder, tissue, table mats, coasters, all in the dustbin as of yesterday.
Terrible day, whole body aching with all the ‘wristling’….

Standard Chartered Card August 21, 2006

Received my standard chartered bill and saw that I was billed an annual fee of S$60. Frankly, if it was the me in the past, I would have just quietly prepared a cheque and pay for it though I rarely use it (except for the balance transfer svc). But now that there are so many banks waiving their annual fees, especially after knowing there are people out there who call the bank for waiver and have their requests granted, I was reluctant to be obliging again.
Before deciding to cancel my card, I was kind enough to give them one more chance by calling to ask for waiver. I cant believe it when the customer service told me that she could only waive 50% of the fee for me at most. 50%? As though I am keen. Well, since they are not keen to earn those monthly interest I pay them for balance transfer, I can pay that to some other banks (come on, my one month interest is almost the same amt as the annual fee and they are telling me they rather give me up than to waive it?).
Well, I guess each bank has their own policy and way of operations. It’s just too bad that our objectives don’t meet.

Bills August 19, 2006

Just receive my SP bill today (for those who dont have to pay this on your own & dont know what it is, it’s the bill for your home electricity, gas and water). Got a shock when I saw the figure – S$170+! My goodness, it’s an increase of S$50 compared to all previous months. Though I have heard that the govt is going to increase the electricity charges, didn’t know it’s going to be so drastic.
Frankly, before the increase of charges, for just the two of us to spend S$120 every month is already quite outrageous. I have been asking my sisters and brothers and most of them are spending around that rate for a family of 4 or more. I think its mostly because of PCs and aircon – me and my husband each have our own pcs/laptop and my husband always use it throughout the day with the aircon on, while I always use mine after work.
Haiz, with the high living standards, it’s tough living in Singapore. Everything is raising by the years – electricity, ERPs, taxi fares, public transpot fares, except salary for most people. Heard that GST is going to be increased again… just a matter of when. ![]()

This header image is actually done by my pal some years back, meant for my trial website (though it never get started). Well, she managed to find the file yesterday and have it sent to me to be put up on my blog.
However, after I saw her newly designed header today, I complain that this is now too amateur look and I want a new one! Being an obliging friend, she agreed and did a new one for me. And ta ta, its loaded on my site as the header now. Nice isn’t it?
Anyway, big thanks to Lieen Lieen for your contribution!
Bad Experience on a Monday Morning August 15, 2006

Haiz, can only blame myself for taking cab almost every morning, so will have higher chance of bumping into bad taxi driver.
But this taxi driver that I met yesterday morning really sucks. Upon boarding the cab, I told him I going to Henderson Road. He look at his cash card and say he only have S$3 plus left, might not be enough to go through the ERPs. But looking at the time, we would pass thru’ the 2 ERPs after 9am (I was late) and so I told him it should be lower than the usual S$4.50. Come on as a taxi driver, I am sure he knows what the charges are at the respective timing…
He was still hesitant and say it might not be enough etc. So I suggested going by another way that will not pass thru’ ERP. He say oh that way got one ERP also. I confirm with him that there is none cause I took that route before. Then he say ‘oh going by that way, will be very jam leh’. We were like ‘discussing’ for almost 5 mins with many cabs shooting past us… Then I finally asked ’so what, you need me to take another cab is it?’. And he said yes! This is so frustrating. Before I alight, I somemore scolded him that so many cabs have gone past us, why didnt he say earlier, waste my time!
End up, I got to wait for another 5 mins for another cab to come and u know what, the two ERPs only cost about S$2! I regretted not taking down his number. Else I would have bothered to file a complaint to the company to highlight such lousy driver to them. Hope he doesnt have enough passengers for the next one week!
MSN Space, Disappointed with New Layout August 13, 2006
Posted by agnesang2207 in Thinking Moments.add a comment

I have been using MSN space for my blog all these while. Been happy with its template and user-friendly functions, especially the pink background (my favourite colour)! But recently, they have change their site from space.msn.com to space.live.com. That’s not all – along with the change of the URL, the whole layout and template has been changed as well. There is now this big banner at the top to display advertisements and to allocate for search engine. And the whole linking and menu display looks so cluttered and complicated now. 1/3 of the page is taken up by all these menu and header before I finally get to see my blog title and the rest of the articles.
I am so disappointed with this change and is very unhappy with the new layout. They left me with no choice but to move on to other blog portal. Well, it’s really troublesome for me to start ‘all over again’ with other blog portal but guess it’s better than having to look at a cluttered page.
For those out there who intend to start a blog, I suggest you can try out wordpress or blogspot if you like something simple. But if you just want a simple-to-use blog page and doesnt mind the advertisements and menu, you may still go ahead and try MSN space.
