Long Lost Contacts September 21, 2006

It’s so coincidental my 2 long lost friends started contacting me again recently. One was someone whom I know in Teleview (chat program that is no longer in existence). We were friends back then and we also meet up with a lot of other chat mates whom we got to know in the program. Oh mine, I recently receives his msg through friendster and was so surprised. Think we havent contacted for almost 7 – 10 years.
Then yesterday, one of my secondary mate called me as well. We were quite close pals back then… but after our secondary school days, we lost contact. Was surprise to receive his call yesterday to catch up, but as I was tied up, I didnt speak to him for long.
Hmm… It’s really funny how people can keep in contact, lost touch and the cycle just repeats from there. Gee. But very glad that I ‘got’ my 2 friends back again.
Housewarming September 17, 2006

My hubby’s friend just invited us to his housewarming yesterday. It’s a 3-room flat right beside Braddell train station, on 18th floor. Well, it’s a really convenient place but I am one who would go for a bigger house. For this house, it’s really small at 60+ sqm though it makes cleaning and tidying really easy. The whole place was done up similiar to a zen concept (pros: look neat, cons: make the small house look even smaller).
Btw, this couple are extreme drinkers. The wife is actually a Korean and she is used to fermenting different flavours of wine with sake brought from Korean. So there we were (excluding me who is allergic to alcohol), drinking all sorts of beers, sake and wine yesterday. It was really a cosy gathering among just 6 people. Come to think of it, I should be arranging something during xmas this year. ![]()

Was looking for a pair of weekend sandals and spotted this cutey sweet sandals from URS. Though the middle part hurts a bit, but the flower by the side and the colour scheme is really lovely. Have asked the sales assistant to help me wax a little, hopefully it helps.

Look at this! A hello kitty magazine holder! Oh I simply LOVE it. It caught my attention when I passed by a stall selling cutey stuff during lunch today. I immediately stop by to check out the price, went to withdraw money, quickly finish my lunch then rush back to buy it.
Not that I have real use for it, but its SOOOOOO cute! I hope the stall is still open tomorrow cause I wanna buy another one. Yeappie!
Teachers’ Day Presents September 10, 2006

My hubby was just showing me the presents that his students have given to him for Teachers’ Day. It’s really an exciting moment to unwrap each gift, though you know it will not be something big or expensive. I felt like I was back in my childhood day when you get to receive many gifts from your friends during your birthday.
As usual, the children nowadays are still getting decorative stuff like dophine penholder, crystal-like balls, bottle with folded stars, bears etc. What caught my attention was actually a photo frame made by one of the students using ice-cream sticks. Not that it’s extremely nice, but I thought it was really thoughtful of this student to make something like this. It comes with also a support at the back so that you can put it standing on a desk. In the middle of the frame is a small blue tag for you to stick your photo on it. I actually want to take a photo of it but this student has got it nicely wrap in a translucent wrapper and I dont wish to spoil the wrapping for the sake of photo-taking.
Oh another cool gift is a tupperware water-bottle. Ai yo, as you know, people of our age like practical stuff. The bottle has already been washed and is sitting in my kitchen now.
Come to think of it, why cant lecturers in our School celebrate teachers’ day as well? I mean our students are still students, I would think that it would be sweet if they could show their appreciation in one form or another on this special day. Hmm, maybe should plan something next year.
The Devil Wears Prada September 9, 2006

Havent been watching any movies for a long long time (prob a year’s time?). As I happened to have reward points expiring for my credit card, I redeemed 2 movie tickets somewhere in Jul 06 (of 3 months validity).
So under the strong recommendation of my colleague/s and with the expiry nearing, I went to watch The Devil Wears Prada today with my hubby. Well, it’s a fast pace and humerous show and it really set you thinking – are you working so hard for what appears to be important to you and you end up ‘losing’ your true self? Do pop by to watch this show if you havent catch it.

This popular TV phone is only available in Japan now.
Really amazed with the speed of technology development nowadays. Who would have thought of carrying a TV as part of your phone and being able to watch TV programs no matter where you are? I mean we do have mobile TV in cabs and buses here in Singapore but with the function inbuilt to your phone? Wow.
Wonder when this will be available in Singapore though. Hope it doesnt come in sky high price.
Renn Thai Restaurant September 1, 2006

Place: Renn Thai
Location: Clarke Quay
Tel: 6338 7200
Price: About S$50 per pax for a variety of dishes like prawns, squids, fish, satay, curry and pineapple rice.
Comments: Went there with 2 colleagues and 2 university partners. The food are pretty nice except that the portions are quite small. Luckily, for the females (3 of us), we are all small eater and so the portion was just about nice. Not a must-go place but for those who have cravings for thai food, not a bad place to try out given its nice ambience.
