Finally, the maid came today – an auntie in her 40s. Overall, her performance is not exactly satisfactory as she tends to remove things to clean each area and dont place them back in their original positions, so I got to re-arrange them on my own. Additionally, she is pretty slow in her work. She only managed to clean the 2 toilets, wipe the table tops, and vacuum/mop the floor within 4 hours. By the time she finishes, she didnt have time to iron ourclothings at all (which was supposedly to be part of the scope).

Leaving all these aside, she is an easy-going and simple person. Pretty chatty too, I have to keep a distance to prevent her from talking too much. Have told her the key shortfalls at the end of the session, hope there is an improvement next week. Else will have to go through the trouble to identify a new maid which can be a chore…

I guess most of you have already known that some shops in Orchard extend their operating hours till midnight on the last Fri of every month. Coincidentally, Lieen and me met up today and realized today is THE DAY. It was really great as I only manage to reach Orchard at 8pm due to some delay at work. You should see the crowd that are still ‘hovering’ around at 10 plus. There was a long queue just to pay at GG5 and we were part of them. People passing by are wondering if it’s a fitting queue or paying queue and many guessed wrongly.

Reached home at 10 mins past 12. Felt that my whole body is breaking apart, but I dont think it’s due to the shopping. More likely due to the work load and late nights over the past one week I guess. I am so glad that it’s my off tomorrow, finally get to rest for a full day at home. And the PT maid is coming on Sun, hope it’s a good one (crossing my finger).

I think other than the period when I was preparing for the graduation in 2005, this is by far the 2nd latest nite I have stayed till in the company. Just managed to finish my KPIs at 1.30am with my brain half dead and 20% of the data at close estimation (no concrete information to support). KS has kindly stayed with me to get the figures done and sent me home while J left at 10+ after numerous call from her other half.

I dont think I can contribute in the meeting tomorrow, my mind will properly be still asleep. Most importantly, pray hard that I can wake up on time… *yawn*

My hubby and I have finally come to terms that we need a part-time maid to help maintain the house and take over the house chores due to our busy work and gaming schedule.

Whoever came up with this part-time maid service is really brilliant as I for one, would never want a full-time maid. Just the thought of having to stay with a stranger makes me uncomfortable.

Did a search on the internet and found a few key agencies namely FirstCare, Homemaker and A-Team who provide part-time maid services. The pricing ranges between S$10 – S$18 per hour, depending on whether its day or night time and if it’s on weekdays or weekends etc. So it averages to about S$200 to S$250 a month for the service. I think the key is whether the maid assigned to us is a friendly, efficient and experience one. Have sent my request to FirstCare, hope to finalize the arrangement by this week. With that, I can then drop all my housework from next weekend onwards! Yeappie!

(Continuation from 13 Jan posting…) Lieen has finally found her ‘perfect’ pair of wedding bands and trilogy. Very happy for her… told her to bring all the rings over to US for P to put on for her, as it’s a significant moment. Went in search for nice wallets too as the black fillings in the ‘R’ for my prada wallet has came off a little and I finally find a reason to change wallet after many years. It’s unfortunate that I havent identify anything in particular yet. Anyway, had a nice and fulfilling dinner at Sushi Teh. Wonder how I can sleep with a super bloated stomach… Hmm…

 P.S: Lieen, I think your trilogy is really almost 99.9% same design as mine as I went to check mine when I reached home. Great mind thinks alike, same taste.. gee.

Received 2 good news today.. Justin is finally ‘getting married’ with his dinner on 02 Feb. Nice date~ but it’s a Fri, need to rush there after work with a haggard face. Ha. Oh and my dear Suharni is preggie and due to give birth next month, wow becoming a mummy soon. Heard from her that Lindy is preggie too… pressure man, seems to be a signal from me, esp with recent hints from my hubby, my mother-in-law and my family. Hmm, whatever will come will come isn’t it. Ke ke. Congrats to all of them for the joyous occasions!

Ta ta! My guest room is finally up after I have moved in for more than a year or so. Have bought the basic furnitures like bed, study table, chairs, cupboard etc to do up the room. Needless to say, it’s more of MY room in the usual pink and white set-up. My hubby like the room so much that he suggested changing his study room with my guest room. His ‘offer’ was of course rejected by me cause this nice room is used by me to work and game now. Gee.

Wow, I just realized that I have not been blogging for the past 3 weeks… no wonder Lieen is asking whether I have neglected my blog site due to my JX game… I do have to admit that I am a game addict now (finally I understand why my hubby can be insensitive to everything around him with the single thought of gaming everyday and why Lieen does not update her blog site frequently). Ha.

But well, gaming doesnt put a stop to my shopping crave. I went in search of diamond and engagement rings with Lieen today and did identify some potential nice rings for her. But well, it was rather embarrassing having to ask all the sales assistants if they can estimate a ring size based on a 55mm finger circumference cause my dear Lieen and her bf doesnt know her bf’s ring size and he went to wrap his finger with a pc of paper and measuring the paper length thereafter. Cute isnt it? Ke ke.

Hmm, before she could conclude her purchase, I bought mine first. I have been looking around for a pair of dangling earrings as well and finally found one at a reasonable price. Got an additional heart shape tag cheaply too (not that I will wear it, but since it’s cheap, I bought to probably wear it around my teddy bear’s neck at home, ha).

Making another trip to Orchard again on next Wednesday to finalize Lieen’s purchase with her… exciting… keke.
