Finally received the activation code for my SMRT card via post yesterday and have my card activated today. So excited. Can start using when my existing ezlink card runs out of value… Yeappie!

Went with J to POSB to change CNY notes during lunch today. As J doesnt have an a/c with POSB, she went to UOB to draw the cash first while I queued for both of us. Ended up the old man (uncle lah) queueing behind us commented to us that J should queue from behind when we tried to explain that she just went to get cash and had asked me to queue first.

Well, not wanting to listen to us, he rudely demanded that J moved to the back and if I am queueing for her, then I should get lost. Only one of us should be queueing in front of him. What the crap! J of course snapped back without hesitation and say that there is no such rule imposed by the bank and she will not moved to the back of the queue. The old man could do nothing to us except to continue grumbling behind us, saying things like ‘uneducated people’, ‘no manners’ etc. Frankly, if it’s a numbering system, I could have get 5 queue nos in adv, so I dont see what’s wrong with queueing for yourself and someone else. And it’s not as though there is a whole troop of people cutting queue.

Just plain unlucky to bump into such a person when I already had to stand for an hour with a heavy tummy and swollen legs. Argh!

Just in case you are still not aware (I also just found out via a flyer on a SMRT cab today!), SMRT is running a promo to reward the lucky ones with holidays to Paris and HK  (include luxurious stays at the Ritz Paris and The Peninsula Hong Kong, passes to Disneyland in Paris and Hong Kong and S$20,000 in cash and shopping vouchers).

All we have to do is to register our ezlink card no via SMRT website and each train/bus ride will earn us extra chances. Just when I was about to pack the Zen Neeon 2 player to be sent to the buyer yesterday, I realized that the battery of the player was not working. Despite following the operating instructions, the battery just doesnt get charged up and I could not on the player without any USB connection at all. My last resort was to email to the Creative service centre for help and luckily their advice for me to download and upgrade the firmware works! Felt so relieved that I dont have to cancel the transaction… Phew!

We have made our first attempt to cook bird nest on last Sat. Prior to that, we were busy seaching for the conventional ginseng pot and I ended up with 3 of different sizes now as the first 2 are too big to go into our boiling pot for purpose of double boiling. Chim right? Well, it turn out to be less challenging than we thought. I can cook it anytime I want without getting any help now.

2007 has been a great year for me. To begin, I had the greatest gift of a lifetime - my little Keven. And the year ended with good monetary rewards – the Best Employee Award, Meritorious Award and a one month bonus and I must say that all these came in time to lessen the financial burden of my coming baby.

Yesterday was the last day of this special year for both my hubby and me, thus we invited his close friend and wife to our place to celebrate this special day. It’s been a long while that my hubby has whipped up these many numbers of dishes and it was a joy to know that the couple enjoyed the meal.

Anyway, it’s the 1st day of 2008 now. I hope that all of us get good health and wealth in this new year and may I give birth to a handsome, clever and good natured boy in March… Wishing all a happy 2008!
