Outing at Changi Terminal 3 May 29, 2010

This is really a good place to bring kids to before meal time as there is ample space for them to run around. By meal time, they will be exhausted and hungry and will just sit quietly to eat. Keven went through the same thing. With the little crowd and number of established restaurants/cafe, I must say it’s a nice place for gathering and coffee as well.

Day at Vivo May 29, 2010

It was definitely one of the most tiring days for us. Though we spent merely 4 hours there, it feels like a whole day event.

We arrived at about 3.30pm and rushed to Soup Spoon to take a light lunch. Little Ryan and family came shortly after to join us.

We then proceeded to the open-air playground at Level 2.

The kids got hungry and thus we paused for milk-feeding.

With the kids ‘re-charged’, we went to see the water feature on level 3. Keven loves it there as he could practice his Taiji moves readily.

Thereafter, we went to Toy’r rus for blast of air-con before concluding the day with a so-so steamboat dinner at 北上川. Cost about S$29 per pax with limited variety of ingredient. Wouldn’t opt to patronise this restaurant again the next time I visit Vivo.

Less wisdom May 26, 2010

Finally did the brave thing yesterday, i.e. to extract my wisdom tooth after the long wait.

The dentist was very nice and made me felt at ease. But the fear of going through the ops was increasing every moment since I stepped into the clinic. And with the fan blowing at my legs, it made me fully understand what it means by ‘having cold feet’.

The whole ops took about 30 mins. Frankly, there was no pain at all. But the sound of drilling and knocking really made my heart almost stop beating. Can’t help but relate to being at a construction site.

The anaesthetic has worn off by now and there is no pain felt fortunately, only soreness. Seriously hope I don’t have to go through this scary ops again.

Been eating porridge since yesterday… same dishes meal after meal. argh.

Despite having joined the company for 6 months, I have only managed to make time for the staff orientation last week.

The first half was the usual dry stuff but the teambuilding in the afternoon was fun. The video recap at the end really made me laugh hard.

Are you a manager? May 21, 2010

A man in a hot air balloon realized that he was lost. He reduced altitude and spotted a woman below.

He descended a bit more and shouted. "Excuse me, can you help me? I promised a friend I would meet him an hour ago, but I don't know where I am."

The woman below replied. "You're in a hot air balloon hovering approximately 30 feet above the ground. You're between 50 and 51 degrees north latitude and between 114 and 115 degrees west longitude."

"You must be an engineer," said the balloonist.

"I am," replied the woman. "How did you know?"

"Well," answered the balloonist, "everything you told me is technically correct, but I've no idea what to make of your information. The fact is I'm still lost. Frankly, you've not been much help at all. If anything, you've delayed my trip."

The woman below responded, "You must be in management."

"I am," replied the balloonist, "but how did you know?"

"Well," said the woman, "you don't know where you are or where you're going. You have risen to where you are due to a large quantity of hot air. You made a promise, which you've no idea how to keep, and you expect people beneath you to solve your problems. The fact is you are in exactly
the same position you were in before we met, but now, somehow, you've managed to make it my fault."
