Brought Keven to Orchard on Sat to have a look at the xmas lightings. Landed up at Tanglin Mall as we were attacted with their cutie design. Unfortunately, our camera ran out of battery, so we end up having to rely on Dear’s handphone for the pictures. Got a pleasant surprise towards the end – SNOW! Kids were enjoying themselves with the foam while we ran as fast as our legs could carry us.

New shopping mall near to Balestier – City Square Mall. You will find restaurants almost on every floor of the shopping mall, so there is a wide variety of choices if you are looking for eating places. We went to Nanxiang Steamed Bun Restaurant (Level 4) and their food are FABULOUS! We tried their hot and soup sichuan soup, prawn with salted egg, cold chicken, fried rice and Ja Jiang noodle, all tasted great. Note that they do not serve white rice though. Pricing is at about S$7 – S$14 per dish.

Instead of visiting Disneyland in HK, we went for a mickey & friends performance at Vivo City with Keven yesterday. Forgot to bring my camera with me, so could only rely on Darren’s camera phone. Keven was ’stoned’ seeing the characters in person. Prob he can only appreciate when he gets older.

Finally went to HK. Spent a mere 5 days there and nearly died of exhaustion from all the walking. Quick recap of the 5 days itinerary as follows.

Day 1

• Arrived in HK around 1pm. Took a cab to JIA Hotel at Causeway Bay.
• Rested in the hotel till about 6pm. In between, ordered room service for our late lunch.
• Went to Lester’s place to visit cutey Celeste.
• Dinner at Italian restaurant in Soho with Lester, Celina, Tim & Yvonne.
• Proceeded to Sevva – 25th storey of Prince’s Building for drinks. Breathtaking view of the city and harbourfront.
• Back to hotel before 12am.

Day 2

• Realised that Jia Hotel only offers bread and cereal for bf. Darren gave it a miss and decided to take bf outside instead.
• 1st try of the MTR to Tung Chung, then switch to bus 23 to go to Lantau for Big Buddha.
• Visited Big Buddha, bought some Guanyin pendants and jing wen at Po Lin Monastery. Stopped by vegetarian restaurant for lunch.
• Took crystal cable car from Ngong Ping back to Tung Chung.
• Shopped at Citygate Outlet (Oakley sunglass, Coach items, Nike jacket and T-shirt)
• Took MTR back to hotel for a rest.
• Proceeded to Times Square in the evening for dinner at Shanghai Xiao nan guo.
• Back to hotel around 9.00pm.

Day 3

• Bf at tea house again.
• Took tram from Causeway Bay to Central and switch to another tram that goes to the Peak.
• Visited Madam Tussauds.
• Shopped at next building (Hardrock Cafe t-shirts & Hello Kitty crocs shoes).
• Took tram back to Central and cab to Yung Kee for lunch (roast goose).
• Proceeded to The Central, then Lanmark Building (bought Longchamp bag for Lian).
• Returned to hotel for rest.
• Went to Sogo to window shop in the evening and had dinner in one of the Xiao Chi Dian along the street near our hotel. Nice Ma Bo Dou Fu and soya bean milk for me.
• Back to hotel around 9.00pm.

Day 4

• Bf at teahouse.
• Took MTR to Central and switch to bus 66 to get to Stanley Plaza.
• Visited Stanley Bay and window shop at Stanley Market.
• Took bus 6X back and passed by Repulse Bay and Deep Water Bay along the way.
• Alighted at Wan Chai to have a quick walk along the street and lunch at a restaurant that we happened to pass by.
• Returned to hotel to rest.
• Went to watch shop near Times Square around 5pm to get our Tag Heuer watches.
• Took MTR to Jordan. Had dinner at Da Pai Dang and bumped into a Singaporean who happened to sit beside us with his friend from California.
• Window shop at Temple Street and took MTR back.
• Darren packed back nice Mango Sago with Gui Ling Gao dessert from famous dessert stall near our hotel.
• Back to hotel around 10pm.

Day 5

• Bf at Cui Yuan.
• Bought some local pastries (Lao Po Bing) near Cui Yuan.
• Returned to hotel and packed up.
• Left for airport at about 12.45pm. Bought the last item on plane – Aigner necklace, beautiful.

Glamour name – SIM. But no clicks, no mentor, snr mgr simply got no time to guide and brief me and having to wake up so early everyday and reach home at about same time as last job. I dont feel ‘welcome’ or useful at all. Am I better or worse off? Could be too early to tell, it’s only my 2nd day but if things continue this way where I dont learn much, may have to move on soon… Yawn. Got to sleep soon again, zombie.

Officially it was 05 Oct 2009, unofficially it is 13 Nov 2009. I have finally left my comfort zone. I thought I will be thrilled but sadness overwhelms me now. Guess it’s due to my slogging and hardwork for the last 7 (coming to years and having to leave all my work behind. My almost 2nd home (office), my slogging mate (laptop) and a bunch of really nice team mates… I will miss all these for a while. 18 Nov 2009 shall mark a new beginning for me. Pray hard.

Restaurant with nice ambience at the basement of Anchorvale Community Club. They also serve drinks with a pool table outside the restaurant for people to chill out. It’s actually under the same management as Jack’s Place.

Dinner is at avg price of S$13.00 – S$18.00 with top up available at S$4.20 – S$8.80 to include soup, dessert and drinks. Their specialty is in grill and BBQ stuff. I didn’t know that and ordered seafood spaghetti which I don’t find very tasty. Service is also of average standard, room for improvement. But generally quite a nice place within a neighbourhood setting.

New ‘toy’ for Keven. Brought him for a ride in the park downstairs and he seems to be enjoying himself. Unfortunately, the leg-rest is too short for his long leg, he has to go into a ’squad’ position in order to rest his legs on it, so he choose to stand rather than sit most of the time. Shall train him to paddle when he is slightly taller…
